Sweetgrass is hilltop winery and distillery located on the old Carroll Farm that was settled in 1807. The Carroll family lived here until 2002 when they relocated across the street. The farm has 66 acres of mixed pasture, sugar bush, and woodlands that border the Medomak River. The copper alembic still is the center of activity during cool weather while crushing, pressing, mashing,
and bottling takes place other days.
Sweetgrass uses over 70,000 lbs. of Maine grown fruit and grain each year producing hand-crafted wines and spirits with a distinctive Maine terroir – the best of Maine in a bottle!
